Sassy needs your help...
There is some sort of bizarre war going at Radio Ratingz between 669 Radio and Brewkah Assault.I have always thought that this other show was somewhat interesting and I liked the fact the host was so against coporate radio, but somehow he has become misguided and started attacking my show on the Radio Ratingz site?!?! Probably because I have had the #1 Average Listener rating in Cleveland, so he might as well gun for #1.
What I am asking from you is if possible could you help me because there is some very, cool, SECRET stuff going behind the scenes that could benefit WCSB & 669 listeners everywhere. I need you guys to come to my support and it will literally take 30 seconds to accomplish. Please help me by going to the site (Click Here) and voting highly (5 score please) if you like the 669 Radio Show.
And because WCSB doesn't subscribe to Arbitron so this is the only way I can prove that WCSB's 669 has a large listening audience.
Like I said I actually like this other show and I understand sabotaging other radio shows. So please, for the love of Sassy, I need any of the WCSB family who cares and especially 669 fans to get on this site and give 669 a much needed boost from any listener who cares.
Thank you in advance. Craig Callander http://www.669radio.com Vote early and vote often!!!

Song from 669 Listener "fawkes"
To the tune of "We will Rock You" by Queen
Sassy you're a fat jack
Sweatin' down your crack
Droolin' on the mic
Gonna be a has-been someday
Brown stains in your shorts
Facial warts
Somebody kill the mic and just hit the "abort"
Singin'
No one no one's listening
No one no one's listening
sassy's got a show
On college radio
But the content kinda blows
They're gonna pull the plug someday
You're fat and whiney
You're audience is tiny
For twenty bucks i'll bet you'd peddle your hiney
Singin'
No one no one's listening
No one no one's listening

Quote from S Dot on Cleveland Scene's Website
Craig Callander and his 669 Radio Show are local flavor that is tasty anytime of the day. Having a star like Crispin Glover on his show (a man of many wonders and obscure to mainstrem media) really shows that Craig can play with the big boys like Rover, Howard and O&A while not alienating his audience and having no budget. He puts on a show that is both so out there while still making each listener connect in some way; whether to obscure references to movies, music, shows or pure randomness. Craig/Sweetass is a man who deserves a big budget and a daily show... and here is to hoping for celebrities pick up on the true number one love of Cleveland Radio.

I guess I'm out of the loop. For years I've been complaining about the dismal state of radio, Cleveland's in particular, and here, right under my nose and left of the dial is this raucous, hilarious and subversive show! All the other "radio personalities" on our airwaves who struggle to be either relevant or outrageous can fold up their tents and go home, 669 is the cock of the walk, king of the hill.

Oh man, those archives are the best thing to happen to me, in my whole miserable life.
I've been burning the midnight oil here --- but it burns so sweet when I can hear the sick sick mind of 669.
Thank you. I will donate generously during Radiothon, and if there's anything else I can do, I will ---
But not in a gay way or anything. I'm all man. I even fought in W.W.2. Of course, I was wearing women's undergarments under my uniform.
But hey, I'm still more of a man than Rick Gilmore.

I love 669. 669 time infinity. Times a googolplex. Love. [You] da man

Gilly sucks.

Hey there.
This is Josh Robert Thompson, voice of "Fake" Arnold Schwarzenegger.
I called into your show back in January, and really enjoyed chatting with you.
Your show is incredible, my friend--thanks for keeping late-night radio on WCSB alive.
WCSB is the sole reason I am in this business.
I grew up on a steady diet of Lonesome Cowboy Dave, ESO, and WAN.
Your show debuted around the time I left for Los Angeles, so I definitely missed out.
But just in listening to an hour of your show recently, I was immediately impressed
with how entertaining it was.
This new generation of degenerates is forever in your debt!
When I'm back in town, I would love to stop in and be on the show.
Anything to give back to the station that made me what I am today.
Best,
Josh Robert Thompson

Subject: The Songwriter for John Shaver approves.
To: 669@669.es
The Songwriter for John Shaver approves. Once I was the golden child of Cleveland radio, The Songwriter for John Shaver could do no wrong on WKNR with my bizarre song parodies about John Shaver. Since then I have been banned from WKNR. Some people just can't laugh at themselves and recognize a comedy genius when he is right in the midst.
I approve of ye 669.
Sincerely,
The Songwriter for John Shaver

Why this show has not been picked up by one of these radio
mega-conglomerations is beyond me?!?!? Aren't they hurting for real
radio talent to help pull the industry out of the ratings nosedive of
late?!? I learned of the 669 show on this site and tuned in a few months
ago and have been listening ever since. The show is best that any form
of radio has to offer. Wild and unpredictable, it is a white-knuckle
ride that is piloted expertly by Sweatass, the host. The show is
hilarious and disturbing at the same time. I am amazed by the energy of
the late-night audience and the attention this show gets buried late on
a Friday night which is supposed to be a dead time-slot. 669 has won
several "best of" and "editor's pick" awards and has pulled off several
"media stunts" through the use of "freak power" and "flying monkeys". Do
yourself a favor and stay up late on a Friday night and blow off any
responsibilities you have on Saturday morning. You will be glad you
did...5+ rating

669 is the best radio show EVER. Its a perfect mix of music, comedy,
and talk punctuated by the mad genius of Sweetass Sassafrass, aka Dr.
Lance Underpants, aka my personal hero and savior, seriously. I listened
to the 669 show regularly while working a craptacular night job for 8
years and it saved my LIFE. Instead of being miserable to the breaking
point every Friday, I was transported through my headphones to the
magical World of WarSass. Sweetass should be given a medal for what he’s
done for me and MILLIONS of night crew workers, insomniacs, drunks and
vagrants. I’m now a successful lecturer and author with a Ph.D., and I
owe it all to Sassafrass. In the pantheon of Cleveland radio legends, he
is Superman and Batman COMBINED. Listen to 669 and see what the fuss is
about. You won’t be sorry, unless you say his name 3 times in a mirror…
I just did and turned into a flying monkey… eeek, I’m flying, higher
than an eagle, and 669 is the wind beneath my wings. THANK YOU,
Sweetass. XOXO.

38. Pornography
became a multi-million dollar industry in the 1980s. Which of the
following was the biggest reason for this explosion, according to
the notes:
a) The natural growth of the U.S.
population, which more than tripled in the 80s.
b) The emergence of home video, which
moved pornographic films from seedy urban theaters to residential
neighborhoods and living rooms.
c) The loosening of obscenity laws
under the Reagan Administration, which favored a free marketplace
and thus gave porn producers free-reign to make movies.
d) The increase in child abuse during
the 60s and 70s, which led many abuse victims to run away in the 80s
and enter the underworld of porn.
e) A national campaign called "Save
Our Smut," which provided much-needed support for the pornography
industry at a grassroots level, in the wake of community censorship
efforts."
I have deliberately avoided listening to any form of commercial radio for over 20 years . Cleveland is unusually blessed with not one , but TWO outstanding NON-commercial/college radio stations - WCSB & WRUW . If I'm not listening to a few select NPR shows , my radio listening is almost exclusively to one of these two exceptional stations . I would review the "669" show in particular as the very best either station has to offer . This is one radio host years past due to match , compete with , & outshine any other major-league , nationally-broadcast show , such as Howard Stern . Ideally , a home-base on XM or Sirius would best preserve the demeanor & integrity of the free-flowing nature of spontaneous , unconstrained conversation making this the unique , one-of-a-kind show it is .Excellent , first-hand examples can be heard , archived at
http://669radio.com/crispin.html
I love this show and Sweetass, the host! The show has been my filthy, dirty little secret for almost a decade. I literally laugh through almost every show. This show is the best thing on radio, anywhere!!! Last week he had
Crispin Glover in studio for over 2 hrs. It was the best interview I have ever heard and I am hooked on 669 and I don't want to go rehab.
The 669 program is one that is the best in Cleveland, hands down. The
satirical sound of Sweetass Sassafras and his iconic cast of callers. The show lends a hand in which the tagline "helping you hurt yourself" comes. The show is an array of vintage movie trailers, hard & fast music, and the best talk radio host in Cleveland hands down. The only down side is that the show is not long enough and I require more Sassy!
Is there anything sweeter than than the sound of madness? I think not, unless, you're talking about the 669 show. A place where your can let your true insanity run free, in the confines of the soul-soothing voice of one Sweetass
Sassafras, the sick mind behind 669. Enjoy kids. You know there is no other choice. :)
669 RULES and EVERY other radio show DROOLS!! Craig Callander was
named Scene's "Best Local Radio Personality" again for 2008. He also won
several times in the past. How does 669 always beat all these other
shows while he is hidden late at night on a low watt station? He does it
because he is the REAL DEAL and the other shows are fake-ass HUMPS. I am
so glad that Sweetass Sassafrass rubs all their noses in there own crap
for the way radio has treated its listeners. Don't ever sell out Sassy!!
You are the freakiest Flying Monkey of all time. Congratulations on
being the BEST!!
Most comedic talk radio is awful: stupid, bland, repetitive, and
painfully unfunny. However, once in a while you'll come across a gem
like 669. 669, a subcultural "underground" college radio talk show, is
mainstream corporate talk radio's antithesis: hilarious, spontaneous,
and original. Craig Callander (a.k.a. Sweetass Sassafrass, a.k.a. Dr.
Lance Underpants), the host of 669, is witty and topical. 669 is easily
the best Cleveland has to offer in talk radio.
Real Cool!!!
669 Radio is the reason I stay up late Friday nights and deprive
myself of sleep. Craig Callander is the ultimate showman when it comes
to Cleveland Radio, and he even is rated higher by the local media than
some of the commercial radio big boys. As Sweetass Sassafrass he seems
to take on a persona that even racist callers and old people can enjoy.
Sassy make make the most mundane topic something to enjoy for the whole
night. We want more 669! Here is a question from a
local college exam. Can you guess which question is related to 669?
